Kerala festival

The festival in Kerala is a holiday of a lifetime. They inherit the ancient traditions and exude the essence of Kerala. Visiting Kerala or God's own land is a paradise for travelers. Enjoy the magical colors of Pooram, Vela, Thalappoli and Utsavam.

Pooram is an amazing event, when the gods and goddesses arrive at the beautifully decorated tuskers to celebrate. This festival is a magnificent and majestic spectacle. Standing ten to one hundred pizzas in front of the temple, the animal trainer holds a gorgeous silk umbrella, white tufted and peacock feather fans, all swinging the rhythm of music.

Thrissur Pooram is a ceremonial parade of two devis [goddess] on the elephants of Vadakunnathan Temple. The parasol above the elephant was changed during the exciting synchronic ceremony, accompanied by the percussion orchestra chendamelan. The fireworks show marked a climax.

The annual snake boat race is usually held in the second week of August. Although these are a widely publicized event, there are other festivals that use boats. In the second week of September, yachts and competitions were held as part of the Parthasarthy Temple Festival in Aranmula, 128 km from Thiruvananthapuram.

Usually, a snake boat is operated by four helmsmen, followed by twenty-five singers and more than one hundred paddlers, who are juxtaposed with vanchipattu's fast pace. Thousands of people gathered at the water's edge to cheer for the huge black crafts as they cut the water into a spectacular end.

Vishu is the first day of the Malayali New Year. I believe that watching a group of auspicious items at dawn can ensure peace and prosperity for one year. Utsavam is an annual celebration or festival of temples.

Vera is a ritual martial arts performance, and the locals appease other goddesses, also known as Durga or Cali. The ceremony takes place at the Temple of Devi and is part of other festivals in Pooram.

Thalappoli is a beautiful parade of girls and women dressed in traditional costumes with hills on their hands. The hills are a brass or silver plate filled with rice, flowers, fruit and a lamp, all of which symbolize prosperity.

Onam is the most popular festival in Kerala. It respects Mahabali, a selfish ruler whose subject matter is so great that the blasphemy God deceives him from losing his life and kingdom. His last wish was to visit his people once a year to ensure their happiness. During the time of Onam, in order to satisfy the heart of Mahabali, we created ample aura. A sumptuous holiday is prepared, new clothes are worn, and the courtyard is decorated with floral patterns. At this time, the famous Nehru trophy rowing competition was held.
