Object Lesson - Christian Super Bowl Challenge

what do you need

  • Newsprint or strip paper - classified ads work well

  • Mark written on paper

  • Football theme decoration

preparation

Create a miniature football field in the middle of the room.

  • Cut some newsprint into 11 strips that are 3 or 4 inches wide [small fonts are best served. Cut them from double-layered newspapers to get the longest strips.]

  • You can usually replace the strip with a wide masking tape, but be sure to check it first to make sure it does not damage the carpet or floor tiles.

  • Mark the code line at the center of each strip or strip of masking tape. You should have a strip for the following:

- aims -
- 10 -
- 20 -
- 30 -
- 40 -
- 50 -
- 40 -
- 30 -
- 20 -
- 10 -
- aims -

  • Place the strip on the floor to create a miniature football field as shown above.

Create a football

  • Cut a brown paper bag or a piece of brown cardboard into a football shape. Use the markers to pull the laces to the shape of the football to make it look more like a football.

  • You can also use small footballs that are easily found in toy stores. They are usually about the size of a large orange.

What should I do

Bible test

  1. Choose a quiz for at least 50 questions. It can be a recent Bible lesson or a simple biblical question.

  2. Divide the youth into two different teams and sit opposite the football field.

  3. Flip the coin to see which team played first

  4. Starting from 50 yards

  5. Every "game" requires young people on the team to answer a question. You may want to limit each young person on the team to answer only one question to ensure that all young people are involved.

  6. A correct answer makes the team move 10 yards. The wrong answer caused the team to lose 5 yards. If the student is unsure of the answer, they may "pass" to another member of the team who has not answered the question. Each question is allowed to be repeated.

  7. The winner is the first team to reach the opponent's end zone [touchdown]. If the match is too long, the team closest to the finish zone will win.

  8. For more fun, decorate the room with a football logo and serve as a referee with a whistling dress.

Variety

You can use the following ideas instead of quizzes:

  • Football guess

Put a bunch of football-related words on the folded strip and place them in the bowl. Divided into two teams. A player from the team slips a slippery point out of the bowl, peaks above it, and must say the word for his or her team. If the team does not guess the word in a minute, the opposing team can make a guess and try to steal the ball. When guessing a game correctly, the team advances 5 yards. There is an attached Super Bowl/Football related word list that you can use for Charades.

You can also use the names of various football teams to play puzzles.

  • Prohibited words

Divided into two groups, whenever the person from the opposing team says the word football, the ball will be ahead of your team.

Let it spirit

  • Equip - Ephesians 6:10-18 - In football, Paul, the team coach gave his team an inspiring speech before the game, reminding them to put on their gear - the hip pad of truth, the shoulder pads of justice Prepare the splint, the mask of faith, the helmet of redemption, and play according to the rules of the script. "Then they have a team huddled together to seek perseverance and strength to win the opponent's victory.

  • Fans - Some people are in the game and some are just watching. Some people are wearing uniforms, but they are only seen by others, but not on the court. They are watching, but they are not doing it. [James 1:22; Matthew 23:1-25]

  • Rules - we must compete according to the rules so that we will not be disqualified [1 Timothy 2:5; 1 John 2:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Corinthians 1 John 10:23]

  • Goal - Philippians 3:14 - Approach the target and win the reward that God calls me a kingdom of heaven.

  • Perseverance - James 1:2-4 - You will encounter many tests, and when you persevere in these tests, you will win. [Ephesians 6:13; Hebrews 10:36]

  • Cheers - we must cheer each other. [1 Thessalonians 5:11; Hebrews 10:23-25; Hebrews 12:1-2]

  • The clock is dying - are you ready? Make the most of your time. [Ephesians 5:15-16; Colossians 4:5-6; 1 Corinthians 9:26-27; 1 Peter 3:15; 2 Timothy 4:2]

Be practical

  • In what ways is the church [or this group] similar to the football team?

[We are united, we have a goal [great committee], we work together to achieve the goal, there are objections, sometimes unexpected things happen, sometimes we explore in our mission, sometimes we succeed, and other times We lost our senses, we have a coach [God], sometimes we have to oppose it, time is short, someone is watching us [audience], not everyone is fair, there are wrong penalties, we must wear protective gear [God's Armor], we have different positions in the team, some people are playing, some are on the sidelines, we need a game plan, etc.]

Let it be an individual

  • Are you a member of the team [Christian?] Why or why not?

  • If you are, what is your position [role] in the team?

  • Are you on the sidelines or playing games?

  • Are you a team player?

  • Are you focused on the goal?

  • What can you start doing to help the team overcome objections more effectively and achieve future goals?

Bible

1 Corinthians 1:25-27

"Everyone who participated in the competition received rigorous training. They did this in order to get a crown that would not last, but we did it to get an eternal crown. Therefore, I don't run like a person aimlessly; I don't do this like a boxer. No, I hit my body and turned it into my slave, so after I preached to others, I would not be disqualified because of the prize."
